It's been 8 days since 2 junior ranking police officers have been assaulted by a senior officer, while carrying out their duty in arresting a man who allegedly chopped another at Mayaro. One can only guess that the assailant (of the first incident) is a friend of the senior ranking officer.
In these 8 days ACP Crime Gilbert Reyes claims to have no knowledge of the incident. One can only guess how officers like Reyes rise through the ranks. For my part, I see a man not following up on his duties and shirking the responsibilities of his post.
As a manager, excuses such as this would not be tolerated by my supervisors. I would in the least be disciplined or alternatively dismissed.

But 2020 is a long way away, and accountability is minimal to say the least, like police intelligence.
Still, I will be keeping my eye on this to see how long action is taken.
