Banaz Mahmod was killed by her father Mahmod Mahmod, 52, and uncle Ari Mahmod, 50 - after falling in love with a man her family did not want her to marry . Banaz was a 20 year old English citizen born of Islamic parentage.
Now, the uncle I don't know about, I suppose one can hate nieces and nephews with enough passion to kill. But for a father to kill his daughter, his own flesh and blood? I can't understand that.
The amount of effort and time I spent with Punks, knowing that her life is more precious than mine, and knowing how fruitless it'd be to see it go to waste so wantonly... I can't fathom the thought of hurting her, much less something so extreme.
One in 10 young British Asians believes so-called honour killings can be justified, according to a poll for the BBC's Asian Network. The 16 to 34-year-old age group interviewed in the survey needed to be persuaded such killings were not acceptable! WTF?? They needed to be persuaded?
Honour killing is a brutal reaction within a family - predominantly Asian and Middle Eastern - to someone perceived to have brought "shame" upon relatives.
What constitutes dishonour can range from wearing clothes thought unsuitable or choosing a career which the family disapprove of, to marrying outside of the wider community. Kidnaps, beatings and rapes have also been committed in the name of "honour".
But incest is rampant among the Asian communities, and methinks this might be another problem with inbreeding. Sanity flies a long journey from these minds.
Sanity also flies in the face of the situation at SFGH. This looks like a place even the devil forsake.

The insane part is that big-mouth Chattergoon, who usually has an opinion and legal threats for every situation, pull a nice denial about even knowing what going on.
A 15 year old, raped and stabbed (for her not to talk?) lies in the said hospital. WTF? 15??? The cat o' nine needs a re-emergence, in public flogging no less.

This retired officer might be one of the 3-subject dunceys from the days... don't look too bright. Memory failing too but from the size he pushing, I can't even offer to buy Ginkgo.
Needless to say, he conveniently forgets the details of the situation where he charged a colleague for 'planassing' a man. I'm betting £10 that the other officer gets off.
Shermie's brother too insane to understand a charge of possession of a weapon.... a cutlass in this case. So said the psycho, I mean psychiatrist at St Ann's hospital (mental hospital for my non-Trini readers). So the next psycho let him loose back in the public domain. Go figure!
From reports I got from people who know John Jeremie (the AG), they say he hard working, kinda honest, and as luck would have it, also a bedpan.
Jeremie has been quoted both in the local and international media saying that he believes that there was a link between the terror plot and the Jamaat.
Seems he don't know how to keep his mouth shut, or else have not heard that a man is presumed innocent until he is tried and found to be otherwise. But to influence the public like this is a low blow even to Bakr's balls.
Plenty to talk about, plenty to make my head ache. Ah well, the day is done, I'm going to bed.
