Firefox fires up

The open source browser (free to all cheapos, paupers and technically savvy smartasses) Firefox just released version 2.0.0.6.

Safe, secure and smart browsing at your fingertips. Multi-enhanced through little 'widgets' or addons listed as extensions.

My favourite extensions? :
  • Adblockplus - ad blocking extension, great for users on dialup. Saves bandwidth by NOT downloading ads.
  • Dutchblock - ad blocking extension, great for users on dialup. Saves bandwidth by NOT downloading ads.
  • Colourful tabs - colours each tab for easier viewing.
  • Download them all - Enhanced Firefox downloader.
  • Foxmark Synchroniser - Synchronises your bookmarks to a remote server (free) so you will never lose a bookmark ever again.
  • Pdf Download - allows management of PDF files online through Firefox
  • Mr Tech Local Install - installs extensions locally from your hard drive if you save them.
  • Flashblock - A lifesaver. prevent flash from downloading unless you actually click on the link. Saves bandwidth.
  • Morning coffee - saves bookmarks to open each day or on schedule at one click. I have several newspapers opening simultaneously on mornings.
  • Windiz Updates - Windows updates for Firefox users or persons running a (ahem) less than legal version of Windows.

Today I added a British English Dictionary and Clipmarks (an extension that helps retain parts of a webpage instead of bookmarking the entire thing).

Experiment, have fun, and see for yourself how much improved your internet experience can be.
