Revelations - the plot thickens

In another clearcut case of Monkey Island justice, police ... well, dunceys to address them correctly, have shot a 13 year old boy while he was in the act of ... closing his front door. Yep, the change in logo and motto seems to be working, ent? But I notice the story is already changing from the duncey side and the victim's side, the dunceys clearly being supported (tacitly at least) by the Express.

Sadly enough, but fully expectant, there has been no comment from said dunceys, neither apology nor statement. Maybe at the weekly senior duncey news briefing?

I look forward to hearing the comments/statement to explain why a woman who bought a lottery ticket that won, was strip searched by dunceys (male or female, I wonder?) based upon a (verbal) complaint by a third person who claims she bought the ticket with his money. The ticket was taken away from her, but although the woman never denied the money was given to her, it was on her own initiative she bought the ticket as an alternative to what the third person wanted... clearly a case where she has a stake in the winnings.

According to one reaction:
I just want to know what evidence the police went on to strip search this woman?! What they mean to say, is I can call the police, tell them someone stole my money and they will just go and take the money from that stated person?! The man would have had no receipt, no nothing, just talk saying the ticket was stolen and thats what the police went on?!
Look, like anybody else, I am willing to give this entire duncey organisation some credit, and perhaps assume there is some little sense within the collective fat-arsed gathering. But the more I see, the lower my hopes fall, and if brains were water, collectively speaking, the entire lot cannot muster enough to give a one-legged flea a footbath.

Am I being unduly harsh? I think not. From my point of view, even the ones who claim to have sense, and those who are doing things by the book, the right way, are at fault. Because they turn a blind eye to their colleagues who stink to high heaven.

I am also looking forward to the further revelations of the tribunal investigating the Chief Justice. The tribunal headed by Lord Mustill yesterday hinted that there seems to be a plot hatched by Shermie, Monteil (him of the HDC/CLICO $110M fame), John Jeremie (the Attorney General) and a couple of others to get Shermie out of debt and also get Sat Sharma out of office.
Mustill said although Mc Nicolls denied knowing about discussions concerning the land transaction, it was imputed that a scheme was put in place to get the Chief Magistrate out of financial difficulties.

The retired Privy Council Judge said there was a plain imputation that by getting Mc Nicolls out of his difficulty, "these persons got together to produce that result... ...what is being said is that there was a small group of conspirators designed to pervert the course of justice by putting pressure, or relieving the pressure, causing an advantage to the Chief Magistrate and at the very least, the Attorney General was part of the group of schemers."
More and more though, it appears that Shermie started an avalanche that quickly got away from him, leaving him out of his depth, and that his stupidity (even I can't believe he could be this stupid) was counted upon by more sinister (and smarter) people. The role of John Jeremie is certainly more prevalent than I first thought, more than merely facilitating the dodgy land deal to put money in Shermie's pocket.

Now it arises (from Shermie's own mouth no less) that Jeremie put forward the defence that Shermie adopted at the failed criminal trial.
He (Shermie) admitted though, that it was the Attorney General who had first mentioned to him that there might have been something in the Privy Council judgment which referred to the existence of parallel proceedings.
So what is the true motive of John Jeremie? Is he hoping to become the next Chief Justice? Was it because of money? Never forget it was Jeremie and his party made it possible for Monteil to benefit financially to the tune of $110M, simply by changing the law to facilitate this.

It seems that while the UNC is viewed as openly rapacious in its greed, the PNM's reputation remains as an entity that continues to maintain the sneaky, stealthy underhanded ways in which the state coffers were drained previously.
