Yesterday I received my phone bill from BT. There was an extra £87 charge on it, a penalty charge no less.
I called BT's billing department to find out what the penalty charge was for. Get this:
It seems that when I signed my contract, I signed it for 18 months. When BT themselves recently offered me a package for reduced call rates anytime - instead of weekends and evenings (6 pm to 6 am), for a few pounds more per month, I opted for that instead. So here is my penalty charge. Even if BT called me and offered the package, and I was not advised I'd have to pay this charge, I am still penalised for opting out of the initial contract and into the new.
Now, how f**ked can one company get?
