I know how low Basdeo Panday and Jack Warner can stoop. After Jack Warner's blatant hijacking of the World Cup tickets, the preferential contracts of Daryan Warner and other less than transparent dealings I don't put anything past him.
Basdeo Panday might be kowtowing to the almighty FIFA dollars, and geting dragged along with Warner, but knowing his own reputation for absolute dotishness, I think he might be fully cooperative in this one.
I'm talking about the visit they paid to Nelson Mandela in South Africa recently.
Before the ink had time to dry in the newspapers reporting their departure for South Africa, they were back with a flea in the ear.

The Express reports:
In the reporting which alerted the country of their planned trip, it was disclosed that they wanted to invite the renowned Mr Mandela to their party's closing rally this Saturday, for next Monday's general election. The Guardian was less kind, it published quotations from the South African Sunday Times:
This would have topped, or bottomed out, depending on how you look at it, the elaborate, cosmetic arrangements made by this party in their attempts to win votes and influence voters.
But South Africa's Sunday Times reported that Warner "was left red-faced...after being shown the door" by Mandela.
A report headlined "Fifa official 'makes up' visit to Mandela" said "only Panday and another member of Warner's entourage" met with the 89-year-old statesman.
This is a prime example of the shameless that makes me see politicians as having skins akin to crapaud leather.
