My name is...?

A prominent attorney who fired his gun during a drunken tirade outside a Chaguanas nightclub last Friday was arrested and charged with four crimes by the police.

The lawyer will appear in the Chaguanas Magistrates Court today to face two counts of using obscene language and firing his gun within 40 yards of a public road.

And there are several persons like myself wondering why his name was not published!

I am a little confused. The subject article carries a story about a lawyer that was charged for an alleged offense. However, the story explains why the police intervened and arrested the lawyer. The arresting officer's name, the location of the police station, the place and time of the offense are all named, except the lawyer that was charged. If someone is charged with an offense, it does not mean that the person is guilty. When Mr. Panday was charged for the ethics violation, wasn't his name mentioned in the news? Currently, Mr. Panday is not guilty of that charge, but his name was mentioned in the news. So, may I ask, why wasn't the lawyer's name mentioned? Is there one set of standards for one category of people and another standard for others? Please Express Newspaper, please give the reading public some responsible journalism.
