It's not a new technology, but people are finding out some interesting ways to utilise webcams to display their own little corner to the world. In this link, the Bullring Mall in Birmingham uses a webcam to broadcast what's going on inside the mall.
Over here you can watch as Alek Komarnitsky as he builds snowmen in his front yard. Later he will have a tremendous lighting display (over 26,000 lights) and viewers can actually use the internet to turn the lights on and off. The cam updates every few seconds.
