Like most people, I've held a primary job for most of my life -- not the same job, mind you - and in reality it is my primary job that pays my bills and other expenses.
Like a lot of people, I have alternative skills, and so can supplement my income by an occasional 'private job' (or PJ as we Trinis call it). So whether it is teaching a class, doing some electronic repairs, or using my IT skills, I do occasionally help out friends or family. Having a soft heart though, I have to say any such work is for mere pittance.
Not so the dunceys in the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service. They have a number of unique ways to supplement income.
From providing private 'security' to protection rackets, from selling drugs to car parts, and kidnapping to murder dunceys can rake in the dollars.
The difference is that I pay taxes on my excess income, and they don't. Mine is legal, theirs isn't.
They are supported by their colleagues and only when they have a 'falling out' does the situation go sour. That's when the shit hits the fan.
