After reading the following letter, I am wondering if we have dunceys at the Immigration department.
My wife is trying to renew her passport (which expires in September).
She has called the phone number that is always busy for four weeks every day and finally got an appointment in December. We are travelling in October so my wife has been twice now to their office on Frederick Street and the attitude of the staff in Immigration, and their total lack of care for people, is appalling.
My wife explains the circumstances but they just don't care. The reception refuses to allow her to see an officer, point blank refusal. Is there nothing that can be done? Nowhere to turn? Where is the human face?

Or are they waiting for 'under the counter' payments like the Licensing office?
