A hibiscus plant I bought for £1.98. It was waving in the breeze so the photo is slightly out of focus.
I was rather surprised to hear that hibiscus can live outdoors here through winter (snow and all). One of my neighbours has one that is about as tall as I am and which she says is 10 years old. It’s been growing outdoors in her back garden.
I gave a couple of friends a podeina plant some time ago. Yesterday i visited and was shocked to see leaves nearly as big as a dinner plate.
To put it in perspective – that pot it is growing in is 8 inches in diameter. Photo taken with my Nokia 6220.
By the way, my friends also have a neighbour who has a dog that bounces on a trampoline in the backyard. I’m trying to get a picture of him doing it, because I’ve never heard of a dog doing that…
They also have various wildlife that comes visiting – squirrels, birds etc, and also a fox.
