I guess I have nothing better to do that to give some miscellaneous facts that have nothing at all to do with what I am actually thinking. Many of these are little gems I picked up from Readers Digest magazines.
- The longest word that can be written using only the top row of a QWERTY keyboard is typewriter. I know some of you are going to try that out!
- The longest word that can be written so that it looks the same upside down is ‘swims’. It also works if you spell it in UPPERCASE. Uh huh, now you’re going to try it by handwriting…
Some things you never knew the names of:
- Armsaye – The armhole in clothing.
- Ferrule – The metal band on a pencil that holds the eraser in place.
- Ophyron – The space between the eyebrows.
- Liripipe – That little tail hanging from a graduate’s hood/hat.
