No flagging of national pride

Recently, when national pride and Gary Hunt raised a flag costing $2M at the National Stadium, tempers flared at the wanton waste. The entire country would have been up in arms but for the want of licences not issued by the Acting CoP.

When amends were sought, the powers that be were radical in making apologetic precedent… not since Max was there so many words saying so little… and even less that were comprehensible.

Still, we the little people lacked the vision that make our leaders first among equals. We simply did not understand that the National pride was not in the flag itself, but rather the experience it brought for flag raising in view of the world.

Yes, now we can have a flag raising in which the heady (or is it windy?) experience stands the nation above the rest.
