food for thought

The following are news items that I’ve noticed; felt confused about; and wondered how on Earth can Rockians survive on the diet of dotishness fed to them on a daily basis.

  1. Wayne Kublalsingh, protester extraordinaire, is fired from UWI. About time. In spite of, or perhaps because of, having a PhD in Literature from Oxford University and teaching ‘Introduction to Poetry’ at UWI for 16 years, Kublalsingh may appreciate the finer points of ‘poetic justice’.
  2. Thundershowers began around midnight and pounded Diego Martin for over two hours, causing the river to break its banks, spewing silt and other debris onto the Diego Martin Highway.” So, a mere two hours of rain and it’s as if the Heavens [for those who believe, nuh] have opened. It behooves me to point out that this is in a country that has annual drought warnings.
  3. The deputy general manager at the Public Transportation Service Corporation (PTSC) was paid a lump sum of about $700,000 after he signed a contract on January 29, 2013, when he accepted the position, and the terms of employment were backdated to December 1, 2011.
  4. At that time, Ishwar Jadoonanan was also employed at the Public Transportation Service Corporation (PTSC) as its human resources manager from 2010.

The question that comes to my mind is whether (knowing Rock mentality) he was paid both salaries for the period of overlap in contracts.

Additionally, there is further evidence of corruption, but the irony is that there is also corruption in covering up the corruption. [Linus] Rogers [Former chairman of the Airports Authority (AATT)] said the judicial review matter was still in the courts but the AATT was instructed to drop the matter and pay the separated employees the sums which they had requested.

  5. A woman was strip searched while dunceys were looking for a missing flash drive that disappeared 4 days earlier. Talk about being fawked up, but without the pleasure self.

While readers cogitate on the dotishness, I looking for breakfast. I need real sustenance.
