Thousand hands dance

Thousand Hand Guan Yin was a dance created by Chinese choreographer Zhang Jigang. This dance was performed by 63 deaf dancers of China Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe. Because they could not hear the music, there were 6 directors in white cloths helping them synchronizing with the music. This dance described the legend that Bodhisattva Guan Yin has one thousand hands. Bodhisattva is a Proto-Buddha. She can not become a Buddha because she is still attached to this world. Her vow: If there is still a single drop of tear in this world, I will not become a Buddha.

The association between the Bezdin Ensemble with Vivaldi  and Mozart is natural.

Only looking back now I realise how young I was – like I almost can’t believe it.

After last night’s post, I just got up this morning thinking back. Went onto YouTube, from my bed (on the HCD) and watched the history of ‘The Carpenters’. I guess that got me onto a roll.

The following selections are not in any particular chronological order. I just sat and looked back over songs from around ‘that time’ – largely but not exclusively from the 70’s. Well, I couldn’t stick just to the 70’s so I strayed a bit!

The songs left are quite good – not just clips - they are full songs. Enjoy. 

Over the next few weeks I certainly be reviewing my collections and sharing a few more.

The Cap salutes Crystal Kovach – probably little known to many. Anyway, dee Cap supports budding musicians at Magnatune.

She has an amazing voice – similar to Pat Benatar, but different.

The Cap is a life member of Magnatune. I really like them. It’s my way of supporting budding new (and not so new) artists.

Jes hang on – dis is not about me being possibly Jamaican, Rastafarian or a reggae  or dub-step addict – or anyt’ing of dee kind. I have a very wide interest in all kinds o’ music. From Bollywood to head-banging rock.. and from Chinese to Gregorian chants! So doh start tryin to categorise dee Cap – not possible.

Ecstatic about Anton Cosmo’s music

From SGS to Anton’s music. Anton Cosmo is the new face on the block! And the Cap has gone ecstatic again.

“He is the son of Fran Cosmo former singer of the band "BOSTON". Throughout his life, it seemed he always had a guitar in hand. A self-taught musician, this was a common bond between him and his father.”

“Anton Cosmo made his live debut with legendary supergroup Boston at the Fiesta Bowl in 2002 and toured with them until 2004. His writing credits include three songs placed on Boston's latest album "Corporate America" (Artemis Records). Anton's song "Turn It Off" was featured in a national campaign that kicked off Launch.com (Yahoo!) in 2003. In 2006 Anton wrote and produced the debut album "Alien," for the band Cosmo on Frontiers Records, which features his father Fran Cosmo on vocals. It was hailed as one of the best melodic rock records of 2006.”

Did you get that? Boston!!! Yeah.. Boston, man – who made ‘More than a Feeling”.

And when you take in Anton Cosmo’s songs you can get a ‘scent’ of Boston in there but it’s refreshingly different. I’m just crazy about this guy’s music – really – been playing the whole album non-stop for the last 4 hours!!! Yep – I’ve been called intense – and I like it! Live life to the max!!
