Yesterday my mom, youngest sister and her baby son surprised me with a visit... all the way from Trinidad. I knew they were travelling, but I was told for months it was to NY.
I knew not a thing until I heard a knock at the front door, opened it and saw my little nephew sitting in his stroller. Didn't recognise him except to think he was looking a little familiar... he's not even 2 yet so couldn't tell me how he came to be 'abandoned' at my door.
The two adults were hiding of course, so there I was, looking around to see who'd be crazy enough to leave a baby at my door at 11:00 AM. I was stumped until my sis jumped out from behind the only bush in my front yard, with her video camera... she was taping my expressions of course. I must have looked like a right jackass.
Anyway, I got some doubles, aloo pies etc (I already ate them so no amount of begging will help). Strange to hear Trini speech again. :-)
