Okay, I might have mentioned before. I dislike talking about race, religion and abortion. People have their views, and they stick to them, no matter what. You talk about abortion, and immediately all the Roman Catholics (most of them I should say) from the Pope down, get their knickers in a twist. Funny, a bunch of men past their sexual prime advising women on what's best for them (said men having preference for young boys on the most part judging by all the publicity in the last few years). Still a taboo subject, never mind the 90% Roman Catholic Mexico recently legalised abortion with no fuss.
You talk religion, and every body jump down the Islamic throat. Look, it have plenty 'bout Islam I dislike, (but the women spectacular, and I am just as red blooded as any other man. More so on occasion). And plenty religion have thing in them that doh make sense to you or me. But that don't give me the right (neither you) to diss the people beliefs.
You talk bout race, and everybody dissing the black man. Now I say black to mean anyone not Caucasian. But let's face it, when you talk race (and black) you really talking bout African and African descendents, what we used to call Negro before polictical correctness trump sanity. Because Negro referred to the area the people originated from, much like East Indians refer to the area of the Asian continent that that people came from. And if the term Negro is racist then so too would be East Indian, but somehow black people prefer the more racist description of being addressed as 'black'.
Now it have plenty 'black' people, both Africans and Indians I dislike. Plenty 'white' people too. I think above all, I tolerate stupidity on a minimal level, no matter how much book sense you have. So sometimes I dislike Selwyn Cudjoe, George W Bush (Dubya) and Sat Maharaj with equal fervor. I am not discriminatory in bestowing my disfavour. After all, as a Grumpy Old Man I reserve the right to call a spade a spade and on occasion these men shovel it well.
But today I have to say, I observe formerly sane men jumping on the racist bandwagon. Look, I not saying that people not partial to their own type, or won't help their own. The first rule of socialism (what I call gathering together) is that we tend to seek out our own kind. Then expand. So yes, we have discrimination, usually in favour of our own kind, that's life and though it ent fair, we try to make it fairer by disallowing it according to social rules (laws).
But watching big educated men trying to put a racist slant on every single thing getting to be annoying. I am certainly not the best person in the world, but I see this as the best way to start race wars. Telling people a problem exists would create that problem in their minds even if it did not exist before. So Panday, the whole UNC (I wonder how Wade Mark/Jack Warner does sleep, being 'black' men in bed with a whole bunch of Indian who make it their business to drive home how 'black' people dissing them?), and Anand Ramlogan bawling race ent helping the situation, they just compounding it and making things worse - a lot worse.
And now I see Express journalist Andy Johnson jumping on this fast moving train and accusing 'a prominent gynaecologist sitting on the opposition benches' of advising Camille Robinson-Regis from having her womb removed just because she is an African/Negro/black woman (of child bearing age [it seems that there is a conspiracy by Trinidad doctors to prevent 'black people from procreating by removing their wombs]) and he is 'Indian'. Never mind the fact that the woman herself admitted she was advised this course of action by numerous doctors, not just this one man: 'She related how doctor after doctor in T&T advised she should undergo a "radical hysterectomy." '
For the love of God people, the woman is 48 years old. Menopause well on the way. And I have a fair idea that the treatments were not for fibroids or whatever, but really for fertility. But that's a another blog, another time.

Look, I ent old, but I getting there quick. And if I have one wish to make before I dead, is that I would like to see all ah we getting along. So stop with the race comments and rhetoric, hug yuh neighbour, and stop throwing teacups.
