Getting burnt twice....

Remember little Justin Paul, the baby who, at 5 hours old, was left in an incubator with a hot water bottle, and as a result was badly burnt? That's him in the photo above, and you can clearly see the results of the burn.

Now doctors have said that he needs plastic surgery and physiotherapy to correct the contracture which Justin is developing as the muscle and tissues have been fused together at his elbow, the movement of his arm is restricted.

Carter and Paul (the parents) said they were very keen on having all corrective procedures done as soon as possible so that Justin can regain all movement in his left arm. Paul said the doctor who saw Justin was very concerned that if something is not done soon, he'll develop a cleft in his arm.

They were instructed by their lawyer Anand Ramlogan to get all of Justin's medical records before and after the incident.

"Since April we put forth requests and were promised the information but we have received nothing, one person in the legal department told me that the reason we haven't gotten the information is because the file is so large, it takes a lot of time to print out. That's the lamest excuse I've ever heard," said Paul.

So far, the story does tell of an ineptitude from the Ministry of Health that beggars belief. But it gets better!

When contacted by the Express, Minister of Health John Rahael said that all medical procedures little Justin required would be undertaken by the North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA).

"Our concern is whether now is the right time for Justin to have plastic surgery. The doctors will determine that. Once that is sorted out, the finances and cost will be made available," said Rahael.

Hold on, Selecta. Am I reading that last line right? Finances and cost will be made available? What exactly does that mean?

The parents have to pay to correct a mistake your inept medical staff caused in the first place? Boy, allyuh Syrian known to be cheap, but this takes the cake, even for that tribe.

If that was Punks, bet your bottom dollar you woulda be paying even for days when the sun doh shine. Or hiding where the sun doh shine.
