Life, lying and lagniappe

Several days ago, the newspapers wrote about a shootout in Wallerfield, where 4 men were killed and also a woman in her home was accidently shot. The woman, Wendy Courtney was in her bedroom and was hit by the stray bullet when the police opened fire.

The police claimed the four men were bandits, and that they were pursuing when they were fired upon.

Not that I dislike all duncey police, but today's newspapers strengthens the case for me to look at them as dunceys. Seriously, these people in the police service so stupid, they can't even tell a lie. Unless they want to be known as lying, in which case they're at the top of the game.

You, my readers, are asking what the hell I am going on about now, right? Well look at this latest development.
Initial police reports say they were chasing the men when they were fired at.

An eyewitness account said the officers who were parked near Agua Santa Junction stopped the car and two officers came out and started shooting the men.

One of the officers was directly in front of the car and the other to the front passenger side, the witness said. Police and other witnesses confirmed that only the front windscreen of the car had bullet holes.

Forde's car stopped on the fast lane and when the Sunday Express visited the scene there were no brake impressions on the road suggesting that the men had stopped in a hurry.

All of the men were also clinically shot in the head and/or chest, the post-mortem results found.

"Think about it, if you chasing a car is obvious it will be from the back. Then how come the car only have bullet holes from the front. And if is a shoot-out like the way the police say then the men would have been riddled, not one gunshot to head and one gunshot to chest. It just don't add up," the witness said.

Like the witness says, it just don't add up. This is obviously a 'hit', as supported by the results of the post-mortem. Why? Maybe it has something to do with the $10,000 that is missing from the men, who collected salaries before being shot.

On Friday Forde went to the site to collect money and pay his workers. Sources confirmed that Forde collected close to $10,000 in cash and paid his workers. Liverpool and Goddard had collected 21 days pay each.

None of the money the men had on them nor their work tools nor their jewelry have been returned to their families.

"Think about it what they could do with $10,000 in cash and all their tools, shovel, trowel and whatever else between Jacob Hill and Agua Santa"? one of the relatives asked.

"I not saying that the police thief it because I was not there, but what else is there for me to think?"

Four lives for $10,000, with one as lagniappe thrown in.
