Well, like a scorpion under attack, my now-familiar blog friend Shermie McNicolls has turned the tables on the JLSC. Brilliant attack really.
Shermie went to court to stop the JLSC from suspending him, basically because the sorry excuses for men at the said JLSC did not have sufficient balls to suspend him outright several months ago after all the fecking around Shermie did (in the Satnarine Sharma affair).
So by feeling sorry for Shermie, and making excuses to defend his position of not testifying in court, the JLSC finds itself with a sting in it's arse. Of its own making actually. Because basically Shermie just told them, 'you should have taken action months ago, now it's too late, you sorry f**ks! You're victimising me.'

In an application for judicial review on Wednesday, McNicolls' attorneys accused the JLSC of inordinate delay in deciding if he should face disciplinary charges.
They argued it would be unfair to subject McNicolls to such proceedings when he is to face basically the same accusations when Sharma's impeachment trial begins next month.
Further, it was claimed that McNicolls bore the brunt of excessive criticism when news of the disciplinary charges was leaked to the media, causing him harm in his "professional standing".
Like the McDonald's ads say, 'I'm loving it'.
Is it clear to anyone else there is a separate law for Shermie, and another for Sharma?

- Speaking of delays, wasn't there a nearly 2 years delay in filing charges against Sharma for 'interfering' in the Vijay Naraynsingh murder trial? Oh, I forgot - Shermie had to clear up the dirt from the land deal, so while the carpet was lifted to hide the mountain of dirt, a passive 'investigation' cleared him. I'm loving it.
- It would be unfair to subject Shermie to 'parallel proceedings' but Sharma's criminal trial and simultaneous impeachment proceedings were fair. I'm loving it.
- It's okay for the media to published charges against Sharma, and ruin his stellar reputation, but Shermie's has harm done to his professional standing'? Hell, they even attempted to arrest him on a Friday night (no doubt to deny bail over the weekend). I'm loving it.
Members of the media were not allowed to attend the proceedings, at which the JLSC was not represented.
By the way, pay heed to the italics above... seems the JLSC still hasn't grown a set of balls between them. It seems the only pair when it comes to Shermie belongs to Hendrickson Seunath of the Law Association.
The Newsday reports:
Only in Trinidad, land of Monkey Island Justice.... I'm loving it.
The Newsday reports:
The stay granted orders to the JLSC to stop disciplinary proceedings. It will give Mc Nicolls leave to make a claim for the JLSC to permanently “refrain, desist, or otherwise cease from taking any further step, or making any further decisions or giving any further directions in connection with the preferment of the six charges.”Right!! It is very clear. The JLSC, responsible for regulation and discipline of the legal fraternity, is not allowed to do so any more!! It can be brought to heel, told to f**k off. The best part of that above quote: well, you can basically tell them to 'f**k off' PERMANENTLY. (I have to explore the law and see if I can apply this to Inland Revenue about my taxes. Won't that be cool!!).
