A reader of my blog asked me to have a look at the Guardian's 'Talk of Trinidad' column. Seems the 'country's tourism stakeholders' had a brouhaha (word deliberately chosen by me) to open Tourism Park 2007 - Undiscovered Country.
From the obvious cocktail circuit environment it is obvious it's another grand opportunity to 'socialise and network'.
Sadly, I can see it's another opportunity for 'gallavanting' as we say in Trini, but in the end, the productivity of the mealy bug will surface. Ooops, sorry. Mixing my metaphors, that one belonged to Agriculture.
Anyway, the picture above is a 'map' I made of the 'higher-archy' present there. To view, click on the picture.
I am wondering how, with all those heavyweights in managing, research, planning etc, how the hell Trinidad and Tobago still so blasted backward in tourism? How do they earn their largesse - I mean, salary?
