And once again...

And once again, Martin Daly has hit the nail on the head. Pothounds in the pool highlights how truly third world Trinidad is, and how little is being done to step out of that mentally disgraceful state.

More than that, I feel a sense of futility after reading this article, simply because the dunceys in charge are really no better than the 'pothongs' described; Daly being accurate in his observations as always.
Pot-hound: the term connotes that a part-hound prefers to hang around the feeding pot rather than carry out its hunting duties. In this meaning it is a bit like Commissioners of Police and other law enforcement officials who eat and drink well on the cocktail circuits but cannot successfully hunt even a fowl tief and who only know that someone is a drug queen controlling a large area after the queen is dead. Then mysteriously the police with complete impunity kill seven persons shortly after, including, by their own admission, an innocent housewife in her own home in the "crossfire".
The acerbic commentary by Daly should serve as a shameful reminder to the involved parties, however, like crapaud leather, their skins have toughened to the point where the basest of insults flows like water off a dasheen leaf.
How will better times ever come when the relative of a top policeman may be involved in something and inquiries are stopped by a phone call but the top policeman remains the chief weekly spokesman for the Government? Some transformation indeed. Talk about "in your face".
How indeed?
