Well I'm figuring that Messrs Cadiz, Alvarez and Charles, Kamla and the rest of the cabal must by now be realising that once again the old Silver Fox has outfoxed them all. He first got them to turn their backs on their respective followers (as few as they may have been), dissolve their parties and join the UNC, oh, I'm sorry, they've changed the name, but it's the same old party.
Now we see Panday constantly on the news in his red beret, yelling about one-on-one talks with Dookeran. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the Alliance supposed to be run by a committee of leaders? How come it's only Panday we are hearing from, and how come he wants just him and Dookeran in the meeting? Cadiz, Alvarez et al, you have been outfoxed. And old Bas must be laughing every night at how gullible you all were.
I hope the people who were backing you in the past have realised how shallow you all are and will realise the only leader with any kind of integrity left here is Mr Winston Dookeran. Unity my foot.

So is this another indicator that the COP is gaining ground, with the disillusioned people seeking a viable alternative?
I know for one thing, at the grassroots level, despite the ratings and polls, the COP might emerge far stronger than any one is presently giving them credit for.
As an aside, we can Panday still hasn't changed his colours, and despite the new red beret, his actions are still black indeed.
So steeped is Mr Panday in hate and degradation that even as he asks for unity with the COP he spits out the word "corpse'' in an attempt to humiliate the party.
Imagine using the words 'unity,' and 'corpse' (describing the party you want to unite with) in the same breath. How can anyone conclude any kind of sincerity on Panday's part?
Responding to Prime Minister Patrick Manning's concern about how the COP finances its campaigns, Dookeran said: "We can take so little and make much out of it; he doesn't understand this because he has taken so much and done so little with it."
Wonder what might have been the cost of the airport, the rapid rail, the waterfront projects if Dooks was controlling the purse. As he is an economist, I am sure the overall cost would have been much much less. Since we have so many before the courts, despite their pleas of innocence, I have to wonder....
My 0.01% hope seems rekindled from these comments.
