I am impressed with the 'mysterious' letter write who penned:
When will we all begin thinking for ourselves? This past weekend, I listened to our leaders speak at different points and these are the remarks that helped me to make my choice for Prime Minister.
Mr Manning - after Hazel's speech - "I notice when the Minister of Education was talking, a lot of the men in the audience had a jealous look on their faces, but gentlemen, forgive me if your wife don't talk so about you". As an offended Trini, my response would be "Mr Manning please have some respect for your audience, real men do not need their women to go out there and sing their praises!"
Then the Jack-Bas leaders - Mr Panday - "Hello Lennox, my fellow jailbird" and Mr Warner - "We have bail money put aside". Again as an offended Trini, my response would be, "We have not reached so low that we want a jail "bud" to represent us and no amount of FIFA bail money will change that".
And finally Mr Dookeran when asked - "So you are going it alone'' (with respect to the call for unity). His response - "I am going it with the people".
I leave you, the true patriots of this country to come to your own conclusion - whom do we choose as PM? Someone who looks down on us and loves only himself, someone who changes his principles every Monday morning depending on who aggravated him that weekend, or someone who loves his country and puts his fellow men first before himself.
If we vote the way we party, then there will indeed be a political tsunami on election day. Fellow Trini Warriors, put country first before race, religion or our selfish needs!
