Unchanging changes

"There are thousands of people in this country who have given me their blood, sweat and tears for 40 years."

"I have struggled with them in the trenches and they have struggled with me, they have kept me in Parliament for 30 consecutive years and I find it difficult to turn my back on them and tell them goodbye so I have decided that I will not abandon them, they must tell me to go."

When asked if he is in fact asked to go, "I shall put my hands together and fall at their feet and say thank you very much."
The above words are from Basdeo Panday, in a Power 102FM interview. Aside from being sad in themselves, what has me even more depressed is the fact that there will be dotish people who actually believe the shite he is shovelling. Let's face it, the only way Panday can leave is via the cremation pyre.

Panday has never been known for diplomacy, but lacks the sentient intelligence to pull off the House MD rude boy behaviour. Seriously though, the people who believe him must be the one's who watched Gilligan's Island and think in every episode 'They're going to get off this time!'

The UNC-A still wants an alliance with COP, still threatening COP to obtain one in fact. I guess they believe you can catch more flies with vinegar instead of honey.

And while all this is going on, murders are still taking place, crime generally is on the rise, the dunceys are still catching manicou on the police station fence.... nothing changes in Monkey Island.
