More than meets the eye

Two things caught my eye this morning. This headline:

Finally, someone from within the ranks of the PNM itself has openly dared to say what many of us have been thinking. I admit, I felt very queasy when I saw that draft constitution, and though I cannot quote the relevant sections verbatim, I saw areas where the democratic process was being strangled, case in point a licence requirement for the media to operate.

The other bit of news that caught my attention was that the Wallerfield file, where 5 persons (including a mother closing her window) were shot, has been sent to the DPP... who still has to make a decision.

Now, if the witnesses of the autopsies has been telling the truth, the men were executed... a single shot to the head. From the back. So Henderson must really be struggling to think.

Well, he quite possibly could be thinking of a way to protect the dunceys who shot the men, right? Get this:
Speaking during the weekly press briefing yesterday at Police administration building in Port-of-Spain, Asst Police Commissioner in charge of Homicide Maurice Piggott admitted that senior police officers looked at the file before forwarding it to Henderson.
Hmm, need to see the file for... gasp! A cover up? To get the stories straight? To collude with the DPP for a smooth explanation why the families will never get justice?

And again, what's with the weekly duncey exposure in the media?
