Limited options

Reading the newspapers this morning, two articles stood out.
  1. Record year's total 375 so far
The first highlights the death toll, rolling inexorably on during the season of 'goodwill towards men'.

The second is an opinion letter to the editor, suggesting what may happen when citizens have had enough; as it is, the country is already reacting as we can see from increasing incidents reported in the news.

This is not the first option for people... to take the law into their own hands. But it is the only option when those in charge of catching criminals and preventing crime can only hold weekly duncey news briefings and shine khaki with their fat arses.

Once again though, we are seeing reactive, as opposed to proactive, actions; both from the duncey force and now from citizens. And the situation spirals down.
